Cool new features coming up: Re-executing tasks and Remote Shell console in Wings 2.3

Xian Wings is our mobile solution that allows you to monitor your Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (OpsMgr) environment on the go! That is correct, you can still join that summer trip without dreading that something could go wrong back in the office.

Our upcoming Xian Wings release includes several great features, meant to make our solution your best friend.  Today, we'll just show two of them applicable to your mobile phones:
  • Now from Xian Wings you can re-execute tasks from the Details panel.  Imagine you need an extra bit of information, like the memory usage of a process, ip configurations, etc. Like in Operations Manager, Xian Wings gives you the option to also run such tasks from your device and show you the output or results. Now if necessary, you can re-execute tasks without the need of navigating to the object and executing the task again.  Click the image to view full size.

  • Access a Shell console (a remote PowerShell session) so that you can prompt commands directly from your mobile device.  This means that additional tasks or actions can be directly done as a response to some alerts or counters received in OpsMgr and without the need to locally get connected to the computer that is experiencing the issues.  Click the image to view full size.

You'll be pleasantly surprised to find out that Xian Wings supports most mobile devices platforms (Windows, Android, iPhone and iPad).
